Wilda Green

Wilda Aeileen Green, age 95, of Cowen passed away Saturday December 1, 2018 at Summersville Regional Medical Center.

She was born on October 24, 1923 in Erbacon, WV.  She was the daughter of the late Thomas Marion and Eliza Dillon Perrine.  Wilda was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker.  She loved the challenge of raising vegetables gardens every year and growing the most amazing flowers.  Aside from her gardening, she loved camping at the Bakers Run campground near Centralia, WV and fishing on Sutton Lake.  In the winter months after gardening and canning season were over, Wilda occupied her time by quilting.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Charles Luther “Spike” Green.  Three brothers and four sisters preceded her as well.  They are respectfully: Kenneth Gene Perrine, Herman Thomas Perrine, Wallace Vernon Perrine, Opal Perrine, Lillian Harriet Rose Nesselrote, Wanda Marie Morris and Nina Jacqueline “Jackie” Perrine.  Wilda was also preceded in death by her first grandchild, Charles Kevin Marion Green in 2002.

Surviving Wilda are her children: Charles Marion “Skip” Green and wife Patricia of Beckley, WV and Roger Gene Green and wife Patricia of Summersville, WV, a granddaughter Traci Nicole Radcliff and her two children Obadiah and Emery, one step grandson Jason Williams and wife Amanda and son Major of Summersville, WV; one step granddaughter Beth Coffman and husband Trevor and son Carter and daughter Willow.  Wilda is also survived by one sister, Evalena Watson of Akron, OH and several nieces and nephews.

A special mention of gratitude to her caregivers of many years for their thoughtfulness, caring and devotion to her; Susan, Polly Alice, Mary, and the two Lisas made our journey more bearable.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday December 5, 2018 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen.  Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday December 6, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Polly Green officiating.  Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen.  Family will serve as pallbearers.
