Thomas Austin Gunther, 89 of Birch River, WV and Dunnellon, FL passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at his residence in Birch River. He was born November 6, 1922 in Farmingdale, NJ to Austin T. and Mary E. Matthews Gunther. He was a Real Estate Broker and a United States Marine. He attended St. Elizabeth Anne Seton in Citrus Springs, FL and was a member of the Marine Corp League and VFW.
Mr. Gunther is survived by his wife Angelina R. Barbuto Gunther; sons Glenn Wilkins and Robert G. Wilkins of Freehold, NJ; daughters Mary Lou Gunther of Liberty, PA, Gina Marie Georgiana of Toms River, NJ, Angela Rose of Inverness, FL, and Maggie Lill Gunther of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister Doris Hayes of Howell, NJ; nephew Michael Gunther of Howell, NJ; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several additional nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son William A. Gunther; and daughter Michelle Ann Cafania.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the residence of Glenn and Maria Wilkins, 847 Waterworks Road, Freehold, NJ. Inurnment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
