Shirley Smith

Shirley Ann Smith, 65, of Harmony, North Carolina died May 17, 2011 at Hamptonville, North Carolina.       She was born December 14, 1945, in Marcus, Webster County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Roy Junior Mathes and Esta Mae (Miller) Mathes.      Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers; Carl, Harley and Kenneth; and sisters, Georgia, Geraldine, Maxine, Betty and Jesse.      She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Richie) Jarvis of Hamptonville, North Carolina; sons, Michael (Karen) Smith of Upperglade, West Virginia and Frank (Heather) Smith of Cowen, West Virginia; companion, Dan Toliver of Harmony, North Carolina; grandchildren, Alexa, Megan, Valerie, Micah & Charlie; sisters, Charlotte Fowler of Birch River, West Virginia and Sherry Carpenter of Paden City, West Virginia; and brother, Steve Mathes of Tiffin, Ohio.      Graveside Service was held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Miller Cemetery, Cowen, with Rev. Larry Cochran officiating.    Friends were received 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen, West Virginia.
