Mildred Olive Wayne, 94 of Cowen went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Summersville Regional Medical Center after a long illness. She was born February 17, 1920 in Wainville to Fred and Mary Weese Bennett and was a homemaker. She attended Cherry Falls Chapel and was a member of the Cowen Rebekah Lodge #105. She was married to Owen Ord Wayne who passed away in 1978. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother who had a generous heart. She will be missed by all and remembered well.
Mildred is survived by her sons Robert Owen (wife Patricia) Wayne of Gassaway and David Glenn (wife Linda) Wayne of Cowen; grandchildren Beverly Rollins and Michael Wayne, both of Gassaway and Donna Nulter of Cowen; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Phyllis Karen Wayne; son Larry Eldon Wayne; granddaughter Cwayna Wayne; grandson David Glenn Wayne, Jr.; and sisters Gladys Weese and Faye Deel.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Mildred's life will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Larry Lovely officiating. Interment will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.
