Martha Villers

Martha Jane Prater Villers, 91 of Painesville, Ohio, formerly of Camden on Gauley, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born March 29, 1923 in Coe (Webster County), the eleventh born of Amos and Minerva Prater. She was the last surviving sibling of thirteen children.
Martha married Samuel C. Villers on April 8, 1944 in Webster Springs. They spent 51 years together until Sam's passing on March 27, 1995. Martha and Sam lived and explored the Northwest where Sam worked in logging. Martha was a hunter, fisher, and business woman. She began several businesses as a seamstress and beautician. Her hobbies included archeology, travel, and gardening. Martha loved the mountains and woods. They lived in Payette, ID, Bonners Ferry, ID, and Lakeview, OR before settling in Painesville, OH.
Martha is survived by many nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Martha's life will be held at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in McAvoy Cemetery.
