Mabel Stalnaker

Mabel Nellie Stalnaker age 90 of Upperglade passed away November 24, 2018. Mabel was born June 26, 1928 in Bolair and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Viola Mary Bell Rice. In addition to her parents Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Clark Stalnaker, a daughter, Joyce Ann Stalnaker and several brothers and sisters.

Mabel was a member of Emmanuel Assembly of God in Upperglade. She enjoyed quilting, making apple butter, canning, riding on the 4-wheeler and cooking for her family.

Mabel is survived by her children; Ivan Thomas Stalnaker, Jerry Wayne Stalnaker, Carolyn Jane Short, Lenora O’Brien , Shirley Lynn Young, Mary Katherine Faith, Teresa Jean Mowery and Darlene Stalnaker; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Warden Rice, Doy Rice, Don Rice and Dwain Rice and also a sister Verlene Coakley.

Service will be Noon, Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Emmanuel Assembly of God, Upperglade with Pastor Marty Cowger officiating. Burial will follow at West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin. Friends may join the family for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
