Lois Harless

Lois Irene Harless, 89, of Cowen, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Summersville Regional Medical Center. Born September 20, 1930 in Little Rock, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Minnie Lula (Dodson) Worley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil A. Harless and son-in-law, Buzz Meadows.

She was of the Protestant faith. Irene was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was always a shining light of Jesus Christ, her Savior. She will never be forgotten, and greatly missed by all.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Mark A. Harless of Elkins; three daughters, Janet E. Gregory of Phillipi, Judy A. Gregory of Cowen, and Mary V. Riffle-Meadows of Cowen; sons-in-law, Larry Gregory, David Gregory, and Buddy Riffle; daughter-in-law, Tammy Harless; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Services to celebrate Irene’s life will be 1 PM, Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen with Brother Eddie Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen. Friends may join the family for visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
