Lela Beale

Lela Mae Beale, 80 of Cowen passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Summersville Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born October 9, 1933 in Diana to Lewis Wade and Virgie A. McCourt Chapman and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. She was an upholsterer for many years and attended Glade View Methodist Church. She was very active outdoors; she loved to garden and work in her flowers and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and riding the four-wheeler.
Lela is survived by her son Darrell (wife Angie) Beale of Webster Springs; brother Paul Chapman of Richwood; sister Gladys Bragg of Cowen; grandchildren Wesley, Casey, & Brandy; great-grandchildren Brooke, Kyra, Ryder, and Jeremy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Owen Reaster Beale; and brother Ray.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Lela's life will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Arlin Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen.
