Kendle Mack Smith, 89, of Navarre, Ohio passed away quietly Wednesday evening, March 18, 2015. He was born November 30, 1925, in Dyer to John Moody and Susan Seabolt Smith and was a United States Navy veteran of WWII, having served in the Philippines as a Seabee (NCB 1055) and on board the USS Facility (AM 233). Following his time in the service he worked for the former Republic/LTV Steel Corp. as an electrician, retiring after 33 years of faithful service. A man of quiet faith, he built his life around his wife and family as a husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa and was happiest in their company. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Rosemarie Heinzer Smith; 5 brothers and 6 sisters. Kendle is survived by his children Kenneth M. Smith, of WV, Bernard A. (Judy) Smith, of VA, Terry L. (Linda) Smith, of WV, Judy Bair, John (Annette) Smith, Jennifer (Michael) Lawrence, all of OH, and Kendle M. (Susan) Smith, Jr., of VA. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 11:00 to 12:00 with Funeral Services at 12:00 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smith Farm Cemetery, Upperglade.
