James Tabor, 90, of Erbacon, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Mon-General Hospital in Morgantown.
Born May 4, 1934 in Fannin County, GA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Aslene Adlue (Barnes) Tabor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charlie Joe Tabor; and grandchildren: Julie Graham and Cody Crist.
James was known throughout his life as being a hard-worker; he loved and was proud of working in the sawmill in Georgia and brought his craft back home to the mountains of West Virginia in 1982, eventually finding a permanent home with his loving wife in Erbacon in 1989. He enjoyed fishing and camping. James was a self-proclaimed Western aficionado; he particularly enjoyed watching movies from collections with actors like John Wayne, Roy Rogers, and Gene Autry.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years and 10 days, Betty Ann (Grizzle)Tabor; children: Charles Tabor (Cecile), Cindy Tabor, Violet Syner, and Daniel Tabor (Mary); brother, Howard Tabor (Dottie); sisters: Hattie Smith, Gladys Ogle, and Ethel Tabor. He was also a very proud grandfather to a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored.
In keeping with James wishes, no services will be held at this time.
