Indalee Virginia Toothman Sandy, 88 of Cowen, passed away on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. She was born April 21, 1922, in Braxton County. She was the daughter of the late Arnold and Anna Wine Toothman.
She lived most of her life in Webster County, and attended the Pentecostal-Holiness Church of Upperglade. She was a former employee in the housekeeping department of Webster County Memorial Hospital, a cook for J. Mack Thompson Saw Mill and a care giver for Individual Home Care. She loved her pets, Dukie and Sweetie Pie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; Mildred Ann, a granddaughter; Melinda Sandy, sons; Tom and Richard Eugene Sandy, brothers; Jim Toothman & Jack Clutter and sister; Martha Fluharty.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons; James Earl Clutter of Alabama, William H. and Mary Ellen Sandy of Webster Springs, and Johnny and Kaye Sandy of Cowen; daughters; Mary and Terry Tonkin of Cowen, and Anna Gaye and Roger Campbell of Tad, WV, grandchildren: Cindy & Scotty Fazio, J. D. & Amanda Sandy, Cheylan and Courtney Sandy, and great grandchildren, Jamie Fazio and Michael Sandy, step grandchildren: Mandy & Darin Childress, Roger & Nicole Campbell, and Bradley Campbell, step great grandchildren, Meleigha & Jayden Childress.
Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, 2 p.m. at Adams-Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Green and Pastor Clarence McCourt officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen, WV. Friends may call on Monday, Jan. 3, from 5-8 p.m.
