Gladys Kate Hammons, 86, of Camden on Gauley, WV, departed this life on October 10, 2014, at Summersville Regional Medical Center. She was born, April 29, 1928, in Coe, WV, the daughter of the late Samuel Benjamin & Bertha Mae Quinn Fletcher. She was a former postal service worker, a life long resident of Webster County, and a Baptist by faith. She enjoyed ardening, puzzels, and playing Set Back.
She is survived by her husband: Elza Hammons of Camden on Gauley, WV, daughters: Charlotte (Albert) Champ of Cottle, WV, and Garlynn Curry (james White) of Pasadena, MD, sister: Bertie Beckett of Craigssville, WV, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen, WV. Burial will follow the service at Alex Williams Cemetery. Friends may call from6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
