George Leroy Stem 63, of 477 Lost Run, Cowen, formerly of Maryland, passed away May 2, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.  George attended Gladeview Community Church and enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Surviving are wife Opal Holcomb Stem of Lost Run; brothers Tommy Stem of 5 Points, TN and Philip Richard Stem of AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Stella Duskens Stem; 2 brothers; and 5 sisters.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Adams-Reed Funeral Chapel, Cowen with Rev. Craig Williams officiating.  Burial will be in the Holcomb Family Cemetery, Lost Run.  Friends will be received 5-8pm on Saturday, May 5,2012 at the Funeral Home.
