Forest Mick

Forest M. Mick age 83 of Cowen passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Webster Nursing and Rehab.  Forest was born February 8, 1936 in Arcola and was the son of the late Robert and Myrtle Holcomb Mick.  Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his sisters, Beulah, Eula and Vivian Mick and brothers, George, Jennis and Bobby Mick.

Forest was a Christian by faith. He enjoyed reading his bible, hunting, fishing, ramp digging and working on his jeeps.  Forest was a retired UMWA coal miner and had worked 20 years with Sewell Coal Company.  He truly loved his family and friends and will be deeply missed.

Surviving are his children, Dwayne Mick and his wife Betty of Wilton, CA, Mike Mick of Cowen and Judy Floyd and her husband Chip of Little Birch; grandchildren, Harley Floyd, Devin Mick, Ashley Mick and Michael Mick and sisters, Peggy Barnett, Mary Vaudrin and Hazel Beckman.

Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Larry Cochran officiating.  Burial will follow at Greene Cemetery, Lost Run.  Friends may join the family for visitation 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
