Evelyn Maxine Bowman, 91 of Craigsville passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. She was born April 06, 1923 in Williams River (Cowen) to Henry Harrison and Velma Lilly Mullens Chaffin and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cottle Church of God, enjoyed crochet, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid reader. She so enjoyed volunteering at the Craigsville Senior Citizen's where she worked the rummage room for over 13 years. She worshipped her grandkids; they were the light of her life and will miss her greatly.

Evelyn is survived by her son James Eugene (wife Angela) Bowman of Akron, OH; daughters Sandra Kay (husband Mike) Terry of Lexington, SC and Tedra Jean Rubino of Denver, CO; sister Mary Madeline Cutright of Akron, OH; grandchildren Paula McCain, Tracy Rubino, Jamie (husband David) Bever, and Amanda Leann Terry; great-grandchildren Dustin (wife BobbiJo) Hostler, Josiah, Madison Grace, and Urijah Bever, and Jordan lee and Justin Dean Mikell; great-great-grandson Logan Wayne Hostler; nieces Hilda Jean, Angela, and Brenda; nephews David and Dewayne Booth; and great-nieces Sunday Ann and Sandie Diane. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Melvin Bowman; son Ellis Patton Snyder; a niece she raised as one of her own Velda Jean Booth; brothers Archie and Harold Chaffin; and sisters Pearl Chaffin and Opal Harlow.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ginny Russ officiating. Interment will follow in Handschumacher Cemetery.
