Ellen Simmons

Ellen Kay Simmons, 65, of Little Birch, WV, departed this life on Monday, April 29, 2013 in Braxton Memorial Hospital.  She was born in Camden on Gauley, WV, the daughter of the late Shelvy and Alice Stewart White.  She worked as an LPN, for Nicholas County Rehabilitation Center and also at Big Otter.  Ellen had lived at Little Birch for thirty years and was formerly of Webster County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers:  Tom, Stevie and Jimmie White.  She is survived by her husband:  Paul H. Simmons of Little Birch, WV, daughters:  Shelley Hurst of Camden on Gauley, WV, and Becky Brooks of Birch River, WV, step daughters:  Angie Smallwood of Sutton, WV, Christie Skidmore of Flatwoods, WV, and Misty Houghton of Birch River, WV, brothers:  Willie White of Illinois, Jack White and Freddie White both of Florida, Clyde White of Summersville, WV, and Bob White of North Carolina, sisters:  Faye Smith of Summersville, Becky Johnston of Craigsville, WV, Jean Boyd of Tennessee, and Jill Monk of Texas, 4 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen, WV, with Rev. Keith Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Alex Williams Cemetery, Camden on Gauley.  Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
