Ellen Addington

Ellen Mildred Addington, 85, of Craigsville, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at Nicholas County Nursing And Rehab. Center, Richwood. She was born March 2, 1928, a daughter of the late Guy & Ruth Adamy Smith.

Mildred was a homemaker and was a Protestant by faith. She enjoyed gardening and camping, was outgoing and enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards.

She is survived by her sons, Carl(Drema) Addington Jr. of Craigsville, Ronnie(Martha) Addington of Oregon and David(Marilyn) Addington of Palm Desert, Calif.; daughter, Kathy Child of Craigsville; brothers, Frank Smith of Upperglade and Junior Ray Smith of Erbacon; sisters, Louise Carpenter of Oklahoma and Bess Bleed of Arizona; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

She was perceded in death by her parents, her husband , Carl Addington Sr.; daughter, Diane Addington; sisters, Macil Mullens, Opal Lyser and Wanda Morrison; brothers, Harry Smith, Harold Smith and Russell Smith.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen, with Rev. Eddie Lay officiating. Interment will follow in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin. Friends may join the familt for visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
