Edna Thomas

Edna Jean Thomas, 83, of Cowen, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.

She was Baptist by faith and enjoyed playing dice, watching Westerns, collecting family photos, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Born August 4, 1936 in Arcola, she was the daughter of the late Burl Utt and Olita (Waugh) Glogli.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Mark Thomas; children, Donna Thomas and Keith Thomas; brother, Richard Glogli; daughter-in-law, Patty Thomas; son-in-law, Sonny Boggs; and her companion, her Boston Terrier, Baby.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Deborah Boggs, Jimmy (wife, Peggy) Thomas, Lorena Browning, Becky (husband, Gene) Collins, Priscilla Thomas (companion, Troy Arbogast), Bobbi Short (companion, Timmy Ritchie), and Arnold Thomas of Cowen; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; best friend, Wavelene Silman; special cousin, Orpha Drennan; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Due to the restrictions placed on the funeral home during the COVID-19 outbreak, there will be a graveside service with burial to follow at 2:00PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin with Rev. Craig Williams officiating.
