Dorothy Ann Short, 68 of Rupert, WV, died on Aug. 31, 2010, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Ronceverte, WV. She was born in Jerrysville, WV, Jan. 5, 1942, the daughter of the late Robert M. and Esta B. O'Brien Hamrick. She had formerly lived in Upperglade, WV, was a homemaker and attended the Arcola Community Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Avery S. Hamrick, Ralph Edward Hamrick and Jimmie Hamrick, and sisters: Mary Ellen Baldridge and Beulah E. Lewis. Dorothy is survived by her husband: Jimmie Short of Rupert, WV, sons: Leslie E. Ray and Marvin L. Ray both of Rupert, daughters: Pamela Sue Lilly of Newport News, VA, Tana Marie Moskowitz of Renick, WV, and Charlene B. Ray of Rupert, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, step sons: Michael Short of Erbacon, WV, and Jimmie Thompson of Nettie, WV.
Services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Cochran officiating. Burial will be in the Alex Williams Cemetery, Camden on Gauley, WV. Friends may call on Saturday, from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
