Denver Everett Mathes, 88 of Dennison Run Rd., Cowen,WV passed away Dec. 27, 2011 at Webster County Memorial Hospital. He was born to Frank & Sarah Jane Elizabeth Keller Mathes. He lived all his life in Webster Co.and attended Halo United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle.
Denver is survived by his wife Martha Jean Paugh Mathes; sons Denver James "Jim" (Carol) Mathes of Cowen, William Joseph "Bill" (Sharon) Mathes of Cowen, Allen Ray (Marsha) Mathes of Ravenna, OH, and Charles Franklin Mathes of Cowen; daughters Linda Kay (Bob) Hamlinton of Newberry, OH, Barbara Ann (Ralph) Nolan of Cowen, Carol Ann (Richard) Rowan of Cowen, and Martha Delorse (Larry) Armentrout of Cowen; 18 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; and sister Waveline Ocheltree. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Clarence,Thomas, Oval, Joseph, Daniel, Melvin,and Burldean; and sisters Leona Burns, Madrell Lipscomb, and Aulda Green.
Freinds may join the family for visitation on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home from 5-8P.M. Funeral will be held at the Funeral Home with the Rev. James "Oz" Gray officiating. Burial will follow at WV Memorial Gardens Calvin, WV.
