Darlene Kay Lee

Darlene “Kay” Lee, 69, of Cowen, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her family, left to rejoice in the kingdom of our Lord on February 2, 2024. Born January 21, 1955, Kay was the daughter of the late Billy Sr and Lemoine Wilson.

Kay was a homemaker, strong woman of unwavering faith, and the matriarch leader of her family. She enjoyed reading, the outdoors, and was always happy to help her family and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her granddaughter, Darlene “Misty” Russell Chapman; sister Norma Wilson; and brother David Wilson. Left to cherish her memory as she passes through Heaven’s gates are her husband of 51 years, Preston Lee Sr; her children Loretta Russell, Preston Lee Jr, and Krista White; her grandchildren Michael Russell, Brittany Lee, Danessa Lee, and Sandra Lee; her great grandchildren; and siblings Billy Wilson Jr of WV, Carol “Sue” Clark of WV, Shirley Moran of CT, and Brenda Wilson of VA. 

Though we will miss her in this life, we will meet her again in the next, restored and without suffering, just as she always knew we would.

Services to celebrate the life of Kay will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 , at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastor Butch Rose officiating. Burial will follow at WV Memorial Gardens, Calvin. Friends may join the family for visitation two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Adams-Reed Funeral Home to assist in funeral expenses.
