Bobby Gene Williams, 71 of Webster Springs, formerly of Nicholas County, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 28, 1941 in 20 mile (Nicholas County) to Patrick and Vesta Williams and spent the majority of his life in this area. He was a coal miner, enjoyed deer hunting and being outdoors, and attended Elk Valley Chapel.
Bobby is survived by his companion Barbara Richards of Summersville; sons George (Anna) Williams of Camden-on-Gauley and Patrick (Karen) Williams of Saw Mill, NC; step-sons Ralph Rodgers, Jr. of Upper Glade and Raymond Rodgers and James Rodgers both of Webster Springs; step-daughters Mary Lou (Velmer) McCartney and Kathy (Michael) McCartney both of Webster Springs, Rosie (companion Joe Taylor) Rodgers of Upper Glade, and Shirley Smith of Cowen; brothers Jim Williams of Virginia and John Williams of Elkhart, IN; sisters Ruth Williams of Elkhart, IN and Ruby Givens of Cowen; 30 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and one expected to arrive soon. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son Warren Rodgers and companion Virginia Rodgers; brothers Jack, Bill, and Tom Williams; and sister Rose Brown.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 10:00 to 12:00 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon with Rev. Sam Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Cemetery, Zela.
