Barbara Detamore

Barbara Jean Detamore, 82 of Cowen passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Nicholas County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 28, 1932 in Bickmore, WV to Carry Curtis and Anna Murphy May and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. She was a homemaker and a store clerk for the Cotton Boll, Blake's Store, and Webster Continuous Care Center. She was protestant by faith and a member of the Cowen Rebecca Lodge and Cowen Railroad Festival.
Barbara is survived by her daughters Judy Baley of Richwood, Linda (Don) McCourt of Webster Springs, and Kathy (Bill) Riffle of Fayetteville; brother Jerry (Sandy) May of Alliance, OH; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul J. Detamore; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and one brother.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Barbara's life will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Lovely officiating. Interment will follow in Handschumacher Cemetery.
